Sd project Peru

Volunteer, internship, and social work project that works directly with Andean communities, empowering women and providing educational support to native children from immigrant families.

Helping women never doubt that they are Valuable & Powerful

The Sustainable Development Project (SD Project-Peru) is a social work and volunteer program operating in the Central Andes, managed and promoted by volunteers. It was legally established and registered in the Peruvian Public Registry in 2009.
We have developed social programs, without intermediaries, in the most vulnerable communities of the Peruvian Andes, where the largest population living in extreme poverty and experiencing economic, social, and cultural exclusion is concentrated.

Educational support for children

It generates a positive impact on many Andean children by providing educational, formative and emotional support. Our small alternative schools are centers of learning based on our Andean traditions, in addition to providing them with the social skills necessary for their future.

Empowerment of Andean women

The empowerment of Andean women is the foundation that strengthens families and gives them the tools they need to achieve healthy and happy homes. It supports these self-help groups of immigrant women who need a helping hand to face the economic, social, and organizational challenges for their survival.

Community development in Populations

It supports the sustainable development of Andean native populations and communities by improving the quality of life of families, providing them with the tools, knowledge and organization to be the drivers of their own improvement and development

Testimonials

"Volunteering with the S D Project is an intense cross cultural learning experience. The needs are varied and large among the families in the program, yet smiles and genuine personal relations are the norm. Frank and the other “tichers” are highly respected and warmly received."

"I took part of the project in March and had an amazing time with the children of Huancayo. I got to make an impact by teaching english with the little knowledge in spanish I had from before and I did as well have plenty of time to improve my spanish in a way I’d never done before."
